Trendy generic (and just downright entertaining) audio typically surges & cycles in popularity (this is why you’ll get random likes on reels you did a month ago) boosting overall engagement as new pockets of the millions of IG users discover it.

Here are some tips when using trending audio:

  • Pay attention to how many reels have used a trending audio track. The less, the more likely your engagement will increase from using it as more users hop on.
  • Don’t use audio that isn’t for your audience. Just because it’s trending doesn’t mean you have to make it fit. Unfitting audio can push interactive audience members away.
  • Be creative! If you have a concept to use the audio that you’re not seeing in the stats page. Go for it! You may just start a subtrend of your own. 📈
